Saturday was a beautiful day good winds if a bit gusty at times only problem it was mostly out of the southwest to west southwest so the race was for the most part a reach fest which of course makes it almost impossible for us to beat Heritage. We had a great start and kept up with Valcore for most of the outbound leg of the race. After rounding the mark we needed to sail very close to the wind to clear the piers at Norfolk Southern Lambert’s point. We manage to clear the point but then from there to the end was a reach and with Heritage about a minute or so behind we knew there was no chance for a bullet this day. We did a great job and our second allowed us to drop one of the fourths. Just Rodney and I were racing Rodney’s “secret weapon” was a great help. Oh I just figured out that we avaraged about 6 mile/hr or about or about 5.2 knots and for Sorellina that just about hull speed for 10.3 miles we couldn’t expect more than that!
