We had a very interesting race on Tuesday the makeup for the race missed for Irene. We started the race by sailing to the Norfolk side of the river a bit counter intuitive but the winds were better. after the down wind leg it may have not helped that much but we were the third or fourth boat to round and very close to the others we kept Tom Cat behind to the ships at Scots Creek where they tacked behind the barge. We should have tacked a little later so we would be on starboard when we tacked again but we followed the other boats and were hammered by their bad air. After rounding the last mark it looked as if we would be lucky to get fourth so I tried to get past Hospital Point closer than I would have liked. We were slowed by the lack of wind there but in the end it filled in and we were lifted to gain back a great deal of time enough to tie for first but only 3 seconds ahead of Tom Cat and 5 or so to Valcour. All the boat in B finished with in two minutes of each other.
