After moving Little Sister to Ft Monroe Friday We were ready for the predicted light South West winds. unfortunately while the winds were from the predicted direction It was hardly light. We were forced to pound into a steep chop made higher by the tide and to help slow our progress the clips on the jib sheets kept coming loose and any slowdown would kill all forward motion. We did much better on the down wind leg catching some larger cruiser but even though the next up wind leg we handled much better we still were lagging. Had we gone cruiser class we most likely would have finished second or maybe first as we passed the second place boat in that fleet even though we gave them 19 seconds a mile for the use of a spinnaker. Well we beat Ganar B fleet spin boat and were ahead of Grimlen at the second light. Great work as usual from my only crew Rodney (we did need a third that day the spinnaker jibs were rather comical). We finished 40 out of about 58 finisher and even beat 2 C boats.
